How To Process the Fresh Cassava Into White Garri

Cassava had planted in Africa,Western Africa, Southeast Asia,South America. And cassava can process some different products,such as, cassava flour, cassava FUFU flour,Cassava starch and garri. But Garri is main food in Africa and Western Africa, so we would like to introduce some information how to process the fresh cassava into white garri. Firstly ,we should know what’s Garri ? Garri is a type of carbohydrate food,and it process it fresh cassava tubers into white garri. It’s a popular and hot-sales means in West Africa and some Africa, especially Igbo people in Nigeria.

In Nigeria, there is some different ways to process fresh cassava into white garri, taking an example, local way & mechanical way.

Our company mainly engaged in garri processing machine, the processing steps included the following parts:

  • Harvest and sorting the fresh cassava in cassava plantation
  • Transportation the harvested the fresh cassava roots to factory for storage
  • Cleaning and washing the cassava tubers
  • Peel fresh cassava roots
  •  Grating the cassava roots into cassava mash
  • Feeding cassava mash into plastic bag and then fermentation it almost 2 days or 3 days.
  •  Pressing cassava mash by presser ,removing water
  • After pressing,breaking it,
  • Feeding garri mash into fryer for frying or roasting
  • Sieving the fried grits
  • Packing the garri grits into bag

  1. Storage it,almost 6-9 months.
